Ballet
Ballet is the backbone of every dance form. Students will learn grace, gain strength, and develop a level of self-discipline. Ballet Is a wonderful place to start for students who are new to dance and are looking to gain a strong technical foundation.
Ballroom
We offer a fun, safe, and respectful learning environment for teens to thrive. These students learn to lead and follow, have correct posture in dance position, proper technique for lifting and being lifted, and recognize the rhythm and timing for each different style. They also learn self-respect, respect for their dance partners, confidence as they tackle new and different physical tasks, and social skills as they interact with their peers.
Jazz
Jazz is a technical dance style that focuses on strength, rhythm and flexibility training, and is formed from a combination of ballet and modern styles. Students will mainly focus on classic jazz technique, such as leaps, turns, kicks, showmanship, rhythm and body awareness. This class is ideal for a student with prior dance technique training.
Lyrical
Lyrical is an expressive form of dance that incorporates both jazz and ballet. In lyrical, students will learn how to tell a story through movement, move gracefully, master floor work, lifts, and various dance tricks.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop has influences from street dance styles dating back to the 1970s. This is a great option for high energy students! In this upbeat class, students will gain confidence in themselves and learn rhythm, musicality, and sharp movements.
Tap
Tap is a style of dance with theatrical roots where dancers use the heels and toes of their shoes to make audible patterns and rhythms that complement or create their own music. Tap students learn to strengthen their mind/body connection while growing their appreciation for music interpretation.
Adult Classes
At Grace in Motion, we believe there is no age limit to the joys and benefits that dance can bring! We offer a variety of adult classes on our weekly schedule to accommodate various levels of commitment, ability, and experience.
Adult students can either enroll in classes and commit to the year, or purchase a punch card that allows for a certain number of drop-ins. (Punch cards available on the "Punch" tab in the parent portal!)
